Actor Lee Yi-kyung Faces Renewed Controversy as Rumor Poster Resurfaces With New Claims

Actor Lee Yi-kyung has become the center of renewed controversy after the individual previously responsible for spreading sexualized allegations against him resurfaced online with additional claims. The developments were reported on December 12 by Naver Entertainment.

According to the report, a user identified as A—the same person who circulated alleged chat screenshots with Lee in October—posted a new message insisting that the conversation was authentic. The post included a short video showing purported mobile chat exchanges, accompanied by statements suggesting the earlier materials were not AI-generated.

The video allegedly shows A sending a partially obscured photo, followed by replies attributed to Lee that contained sexually suggestive remarks. The authenticity of the exchanges has not been independently verified.

The individual behind the posts previously reversed their stance multiple times. After initially uploading explicit screenshots in October, A retracted the claims and apologized, acknowledging the materials were false before deleting the account. However, the user later restored the account, withdrew the apology, and hinted at releasing further material.

Lee Yi-kyung’s representatives have denied all allegations and confirmed they have filed legal complaints for intimidation and defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act. The agency reiterated that no leniency will be shown toward the individual involved.

The controversy has already impacted Lee’s professional activities. The actor stepped down from the MBC variety program “Hangout with Yoo”, and expected participation in “The Return of Superman” did not proceed as planned.
