Star Lee Joon-hyuk Says 2025 a “Year of New Life” Following Award Wins and Career Milestones
Actor Lee Joon-hyuk described 2025 as a transformative year in his career, calling it a year in which he feels he has “gained an extra life.” The actor recently swept two honors at the Asia Artist Awards 2025 (AAA 2025), taking home both the Best Artist and 10 Legendary Actor awards.
Reflecting on the year, Lee said the recognition feels like a fresh start, giving him renewed motivation and a sense of purpose. Known for his strong performances in action and crime dramas, this year he challenged himself with a new genre, starring in the romantic drama My Perfect Secretary, a departure from his usual roles.
“I have always been shy and not used to attending award ceremonies,” Lee said. “But this year, I realized the true meaning and value of the opportunities I’ve been given.” He added that embracing the romantic role, despite initial hesitation, allowed him to show a different side of his acting and connect with audiences in new ways.
Looking ahead, Lee has several upcoming projects lined up, including the drama Lotto #1 Also Goes to Work and a special role in the film The Man Who Lives with the King, scheduled for release next year. He emphasized that while the roles weren’t initially chosen as challenges, they ended up pushing him to grow as an actor.
For Lee, 2025 represents a milestone year — a combination of audience appreciation, carefully chosen roles, and professional recognition that has propelled him forward. “It’s proof that when the right opportunity meets preparation, even someone who is naturally reserved can take bold steps forward,” he said.
